Climate Change:Intro

Hey. All you people. Yeah, I'm looking at you. You impact the environment as much as the environment impacts you. So what happens if the entire Earth is impacted? You are also impacted. Have you seen the news lately? Have you seen the hurricanes, the floods, and the tornadoes? Have you experienced them? Have you not? Well, you see, all this is because of 2 words. Climate Change. I bet you've heard of it before, but let's get this straight, IT IS A BIG DEAl! If you look outside in the summer, into your lawn, you usually see luscious, green grass. Have you ever considered that might go away? Have you ever considered that when you are 60, you may live in a world that has no green grass, no clear blue skies, no pretty flowers? Have you ever considered that your own children might die of poison from the air? I have. And I'm terrified. You should be too. We were supposedly made to help protect the Earth. In reality, it's quite the opposite. We are supposed to be smart animals, but in fact, we are quite dumb and greedy. Your parents might be like, "Eh, I don't have to care because I won't be alive then." However, about 95% of you WILL still be alive. You will experience the consequences and you will pay your ancestors' price. Enjoy the comfort while you still can. Perhaps in 3o years, you won't have anything to breathe.
Every year, we release tons of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) into the air, causing the ice to melt. Now you may be wondering, so what? Well, listen here. When the ice melts, where does it fall into? That big puddle of water we call the ocean. Now, what if lots of ice melts? What if 400,000,000,000 tons of ice melts (National Geographic)? The sea level will rise. And what happens when the sea level rises? The ocean will flood the Earth. You've probably already seen examples of this. Your floods and hurricanes are probably coming from this. Now image how many people have died, lost their family members, lost their homes? Imagine how many people had dreams and a life planned out for them, just for it to be washed away. Imagine the parents who have to mourn their child's death just because of ice. Do you see what I mean about, CLIMATE CHANGE IS A BIG DEAL?
And you know what I really don't get? People who say "Climate Change isn't real." If you are one of these people, let's look at the facts. If climate change isn't real, why is the ice melting so fast? Why are we having more hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes? Oh, and just so you know, volcanic eruptions, solar radiation from sunspots, and solar winds have only affected the climate change by 2%. That's just an FYI. Now, if you start the argument, "the oceans are giving off CO2 too you know," let me stop you there. It is true that the ocean is giving off CO2. But, if it was the ocean's fault, then how come the Earth hasn't been heating up from the start of its life. That is because Earth was in balance and humans threw it off balance. We are adding more and more CO2. So that argument is just done. Done and over with.
Now, I might be sounding like the end of the world is coming, and that may be true, but we can help prevent climate change. Read more E-Books, turn off your electricity when not using it (air conditioning, lights, etc.etc.), don't litter, use organic fertilizer, eat less protein, do community service that helps the environment, plant a couple of trees, eat locally grown fruits and veggies, use public transportation, buy an electrical car, carpool, and so much more. Thanks for reading!
